Credit Union Connect Round Up 2019

A lot has happened for Soar in 2019 but one of the big things we launched this year was Credit Union Connect. We launched in February with an event which educates and inspires credit unions on digital transformation. The concept came after we had been involved in the credit union sector for a few years. We realised that we could really help people in the sector by teaching them a bit more about going digital and providing them with advice on how to grow different aspects of their organisation.

The team came up with workshops and presentations on everything from cybersecurity to social media marketing to millennial attraction and got to work on creating an entire event around these. The first Credit Union Connect took place in February. As this was our first event, we decided to keep it close to home and hosted it in Glasgow. This meant we were able to invite lots of our customers and credit unions we knew in the surrounding areas. We amazingly had a full house and the first test of our format went down brilliantly. We had workshops on cybersecurity and millennial attraction and our Marketing Manager also hosted a session on building your brand and website. You can see the stats collected in our feedback below from the event in Glasgow. After this success, we knew we had to host some more in new locations.

Soar had a busy summer as we reached important milestones in our development so we waited until September to host the next Credit Union Connect so we could give it our full attention. Manchester was our first autumn location and when it came to hosting these next events we were lucky enough to utilise some of our credit union contacts that were happy to host us. No1 Copperpot Credit Union was kind enough to give us their board room for the day in September as we introduced ourselves to some credit unions in Manchester. We even added some new sessions this time. We had additional sessions from ourCompliance Manager who hosted an interactive workshop to create a ‘Compliance Checklist’ and we also had a guest workshop from Steven Cunningham from Alexander Sloan. We had a very engaging day and our attendees especially enjoyed the look at our technology. Take a look at some of this great feedback:

Last up for us this year was London! We were a little nervous heading here as we didn’t know as many credit unions in the area as we did in Manchester, but we definitely didn’t need to worry. Credit unions from London and the surrounding area turned up to discuss the future of credit unions and with the help of London Mutual Credit Union, we hosted a very successful event. The format took a very similar form to Manchester and we were happy to find that this group was the most engaged in open discussions. This meant attendees really got the most out of their day and they proved this with these comments:

You can look forward to Soar hosting even more Credit UnionConnect events around the UK next year. We are refreshing all of our workshops and there will be even more for you to enjoy. Thank you to everyone who attended this year and tested out our format and an extra special thank you to No1 Copperpot Credit Union and London Mutual Credit Union.

Let us know if you would like to be kept up to date on our locations for next year – hello@soar.tech.
